Guna Bus Accident : The private bus which engulfed in flames following an accident in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna on Wednesday, lacked a ‘fitness certificate’. Further, it was known that the bus was owned by a BJP leader.

A total of 13 passengers died after the bus collided head-on with the dumper on Guna-Aaron road at around 9 pm on Wednesday.

Soon after the accident, the bus turned into a fireball.

Seventeen others received injuries in the accident.

Meanwhile, Transport Officer Ravi Bareliya and Chief Municipality Officer BD Kataroliya were suspended for laxity in connection with the accident. Reports said the action was taken over the delay in the arrival of the fire brigade.

According to some of the survivors, the driver of the bus was in an inebriated condition. Another passenger, a pregnant woman, said she sustained injuries to her forehead.

Later, President Droupadi Murmu said she was sad to know about the loss of lives in a road accident in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district and expressed condolences to the bereaved families.

She also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

“The news of death of several people in a road accident in Guna, Madhya Pradesh, is sad. I express my deep condolences to the families of the deceased and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured,” Murmu said in a post on X in Hindi.
