Moon Secrets : The ISRO said that Vikram Lander and Pragyan Rover of Chandrayaan-3 are in contact and in good health.
Moon Secrets : On Tuesday, the Pragyan Rover from Chandrayaan 3 received a fresh update from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Taking to X, ISRO said that the rover is currently en route to explore the Moon’s mysteries. According to the space agency, Vikram Lander and Pragyan Rover are in contact and both are doing well.”Hello, fellow humans! This is the Pragyan Rover from #Chandrayaan3.
I hope all is okay with you. I’m on my way to learn the mysteries of the Moon, and I want to let everyone know it. I communicate with my friend Vikram Lander. We’re all in good shape. The greatest is soon to come…#ISRO,” ISRO tweeted on the lunar mission’s official X account.
Moon Secrets : The Pragyaan rover on Chandrayaan-3 discovered a 4-meter-diameter crater on the lunar surface earlier on Monday, according to a statement from the ISRO. “On August 27, 2023, the Rover discovered a crater with a diameter of 4 meters that was 3 meters in front of its current location. The order to turn around was given to the Rover. It’s now moving safely in a new direction. In a historic feat, ISRO successfully landed Chandrayaan-3 on the far side of the Moon on August 23 (Wednesday), making it the first nation to accomplish this feat.
ISRO releases the first data from Chandrayaan-3.
Moon Secrets : ISRO on Sunday released the first observations from Chandra’s Surface Thermophysical Experiment (ChaSTE) payload on the Chandrayaan-3’s Vikram lander. ChaSTE has measured the temperature profile of the lunar topsoil around the Moon’s south pole, ISRO said in its latest statement. The space agency said on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, that ChaSTE has a ‘temperature probe equipped with a controlled penetration mechanism capable of reaching a depth of 10 cm beneath the surface.’
Moon Secrets : The probe is fitted with 10 individual temperature sensors. ISRO has released a graph that shows the variation of lunar surface temperature with depth. The probe recorded the temperature variations of the lunar surface and near-surface at various depths. According to ISRO, Chandrayaan-3 has produced the first temperature-depth profile of the Moon’s south pole.
