RS Shivaji and Kamal Haasan got along well. Both have collaborated on a number of movies.

RS Shivaji, a comedian, reportedly passed away on Saturday as a result of health issues. He was 66. RS Shivani, who has roles in more than a hundred Tamil movies, was good friends with Kamal Haasan.

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala posted the following on X, formerly known as Twitter, to share the news of his passing: “Popular Tamil Character/Comedy Actor #RSShivajipassedaway in Chennai this morning. He performed in this Friday’s movie, “Lucky Man,” and has played a number of noteworthy roles, such as “Apoorva Sagodharargal,” among others. RIP, may his soul!

Son of actor-producer MR Santhanam, RS Shivaji. In the four decades after his film debut in the 1980s, he has produced a number of blockbuster movies. He appeared in various movies and was well-known for his friendship with Kamal Haasan. Vikram, Satya, Apoorva Sagodaragal, Michael Madana Kamaraju, Guna, Chachi 420, and Anbeshivam are some of his finest works. These movies have all also been dubbed into Telugu.

Later, he made his Telugu film debut in Jagadekaveeru Athiloka Sundari, starring Chiranjeevi. RS Shivaji portrayed a constable in the movie.
