The Chief Minister said that due to the recent events in Nuh, permission for the yatra has not been granted considering the law and order situation in the area.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday, in view of the Nuh violence, said authorities have denied permission for the Braj Mandal Shobha Yatra scheduled for Monday, and urged people to visit temples instead. He said the administration took the decision as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order in the state.

Six people, including two home guards and a cleric, died in the clashes that erupted in Nuh on July 31 over an attempt to stop a Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) procession and spread to Gurugram and other places.

The Chief Minister said that due to the recent events in Nuh, permission for the yatra has not been granted considering the law and order situation.

Even after the Chief Minister’s order, VHP leader Vinod Bansal said that the yatra would be taken out tomorrow at 11 am.

“Jal Abhishek Yatra will be taken out at 11 am tomorrow. Since it is a pilgrimage, there is no need to take permission for this,” said VHP leader Vinod Bansal, even as the Haryana administration denied permission to hold the procession in Nuh tomorrow.
