UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday slammed his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee over the clashes that took place during Ram Navami in Murshidabad last week

In Murshidabad, West Bengal, on Wednesday, a Ram Navami procession was allegedly assaulted with stones, resulting in at least four injuries.

This is the unfavorable consequence of appeasement tactics. The riots that occurred in West Bengal and other non-BJP controlled states, whether on the festival of Holi or Ram Navami, are an example of manipulating popular feeling and vote-bank politics for the sake of appeasing. There were assaults on Ram Navami processions once more in West Bengal on this auspicious day, according to Adityanath, as reported by ANI.

In Murshidabad, West Bengal, on Wednesday, a Ram Navami procession was allegedly assaulted with stones, resulting in at least four injuries.

Under condition of anonymity, a police officer told HT that there was an attack on a Ram Navami procession organized by the Shaktipur Ram Navami Utsav Ujjapan Committee as it went past the Shaktipur High School. The official said that stones were reportedly thrown from roofs.

“This is a matter of concern and also a message for the people of the country that when these people are not able to protect the peaceful processions, how will they be able to provide security to our sisters and daughters and to the common citizens?” the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh remarked in Lucknow.

The chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Prabhat Patwardhan, blasted Mamata Banerjee on Saturday for the skirmishes, claiming that the TMC assaulted the march to harm ‘Sanatan’.

“Ram Navami celebrations and processions were conducted safely in all the states ruled by the BJP, but due to the TMC government of West Bengal, Ram Navami processions were attacked there and efforts were made to hurt ‘Sanatan’ faith,” according to a report by ANI.

Similar to Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal is participating in all seven Lok Sabha election stages. On April 26, voting will take place in the second phase.
