Kisan Andolan 2.0 Live : New Delhi : Farmers from Punjab, Haryana and Western Uttar Pradesh are protesting along the borders of Delhi. The Delhi-Haryana border has been closed for farmers from Punjab and Haryana. On Tuesday, the police fired tear gas to stop the farmers and disperse them. A large number of police personnel have been deployed at the Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur borders.

Cement and iron barricading has also been done on these borders. Apart from this, barbed wire and containers have also been placed to stop the farmers. The farmers again said on Tuesday evening that they will try to enter Delhi again in the morning. Meanwhile, the opposition parties have slammed the state government over the police action.

In view of the farmers’ agitation, Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda is holding a meeting with officials at Krishi Bhawan on how to resolve it. Farmers are agitating on the borders of Delhi and Haryana.

The Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ugraha), the largest farmers’ organisation in Punjab, has announced that the railway tracks in the state will be blocked from 12 noon to 4 pm tomorrow in protest against the blocking of the way of the farmers going to Delhi and tear gas on them.

Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij said, “They wanted to talk to the central government, but the central government is here to talk. Talks have been held twice and they are not ruling out further talks, yet they are adamant on going to Delhi. Why do they want to go to Delhi? They seem to have other intentions. We will not disturb peace. They should take back their call.”
