Bank holidays in April 2024: In certain states, banks will be closed for 14 days in April. As per the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) holiday list, this will encompass Sundays as well as the second and fourth Saturdays. Customers should make sure to review the bank holiday list according to their state of residence before visiting the bank.
Bihu/Cheiraoba/Baisakhi/Biju Festival, Gudhi Padwa/Ugadi Festival/Telugu New Year’s Day/Sajibu Nongmapanba (Cheiraoba)/1st Navratra, Babu Jagjivan Ram’s Birthday/Jumat-ul-Vida, Bohag Bihu/Himachal Day, Garia Puja in honor of Shree Ram Navami (Chaite Dasain).
On April 1, 2024, banks will be closed in order to close their annual accounts. On April 1, however, banks will still be operational in Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Chandigarh, Sikkim, and Meghalaya.
On April 5, 2024, Telangana, Jammu, and Srinagar will have bank holidays in observance of Babu Jagjivan Ram’s birthday, or Juma-ul-Vida.
April 9, 2024: In observance of Gudhi Padwa, Ugadi Festival, Telugu New Year’s Day, Sajibu Nongmapanba (Cheiraoba), and first Navratra, banks holidays will be observed in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Hyderabad – Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad – Telangana, Manipur, Goa, Jammu, and Srinagar.
Kerala will observe Ramzan-Id (Id-Ul-Fitr) as a bank holiday on April 10, 2024.
On April 11, 2024, all states will observe Ramzan-Id (Id-Ul-Fitr) or the first Shawaal vacation, with the exception of Chandigarh, Sikkim, Kerala, and Himachal Pradesh.
On Saturday, April 13, 2024, banks in Tripura, Assam, Manipur, Jammu, and Srinagar will be closed in observance of the Bohag Bihu/Cheiraoba/Baisakhi/Biju Festival.
Assam and Himachal Pradesh will have closed banks on April 15, 2024.
April 16, 2024: Banks in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Chandigarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Himachal Pradesh would be closed on this day in observance of Ram Navami.
Tripura’s banks are closed on April 20, 2024.
