Raipur. With the announcement of the election dates, the model code of conduct has come into effect across the country. The administration will now work completely under the direction of the Election Commission, unlike the Centre or the state. Election in Chhattisgarh will be held in three phases under Section 144 of the CrPC. The law has been completely implemented in the state. Chief Electoral Officer Reena Babasaheb Kangal today held a press conference to brief the media about the preparations for the elections and 100 per cent compliance of the code of conduct.

Government employees to return

After this announcement, the administration has also become fully prepared. Government boards, flexes and banners at chowk chowrahas are being removed. Painting of walls has also been started. In view of this, the Raipur Collector has imposed a ban on the leave of officials of all departments.

Collector Gaurav Kumar Singh issued an order stating that no officer and staff will be able to take leave and leave the headquarters till the Lok Sabha elections. Many officers had applied for leave before the code of conduct came into force. Some officers who were on leave have also been asked to return.

After the model code of conduct came into effect, District Election Officer-cum-Collector Gaurav Kumar Singh has directed the ministers, MLAs and public representatives to take back the allotted vehicles. Section 144 has been imposed in Chhattisgarh.

The vehicles of all the leaders and public representatives will be taken back from the day the election date is announced till the election results are out. All vehicles will be parked in state garages during this period. Similarly, the ministers of the government will no longer be able to use the aircraft and helicopters of the state government. He is currently lodged in the state jail.

Section 144 has been imposed across the entire state

Section 144 has been imposed in all the districts of the state to maintain peace and order in view of the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Possession of arms is prohibited. Election officers of the districts have been directed not to carry any weapons such as swords, daggers, spears, lathis, knives, knives, axes, guptis and tridents in public places. Only government employees who have to keep the weapon will be able to keep it during duty.

The Election Commission on Saturday announced the dates for the Lok Sabha elections. Elections to 543 Lok Sabha seats in the country will be held in seven phases. The first phase of polling will be held on April 19, second phase on April 26, third phase on May 7, fourth phase on May 13, fifth phase on May 20, sixth phase on May 25 and seventh phase on June 1. The election results will be announced on June 4.

In the first phase, elections will be held in 102 Lok Sabha seats. In the second phase, voting will be held in 89 Lok Sabha seats. In the third phase, elections will be held in 94 seats and in the fourth phase, elections will be held in 96 seats. In the fifth phase, elections will be held in 49 Lok Sabha seats, in the sixth phase 57 Lok Sabha seats and in the seventh phase 57 Lok Sabha seats. With this, the counting of votes will be held on June 4.

96 seats to go to polls in fourth phase on May 13

49 seats in the fifth phase on May 20

57 seats in the sixth phase on May 25

Polling will be held in 57 seats in the seventh and final phase on June 1, while counting of votes will take place on June 4.

Elections to be held in three phases

Elections in Chhattisgarh will be held in three phases. The first phase of polling will be held on April 19, the second on April 26 and the third on May 7. There are 11 Lok Sabha seats in the state. These include Rajnandgaon, Bastar, Mahasamund, Kanker, Surguja, Raigarh, Janjgir-Champa, Korba, Bilaspur, Durg and Raipur.
