Joyce Polycarp, Malaika’s mother and Anil Arora’s ex-wife, has provided a statement to the police. She mentioned that Anil used to read the newspaper on the balcony every morning. On the day of the incident, Joyce noticed Anil’s slippers in the living room and went to look for him on the balcony. Finding him missing, she went to the railing and saw a commotion below. The building’s watchman was shouting for help, which led her to realize that something was seriously wrong.
Joyce further noted that Anil was not suffering from any major illness and that his general health was good apart from some knee pain. She stressed that there were no clear signs or crises that might have led him to take such a drastic step.
Police Update
The Mumbai Police have classified Anil Arora’s death as a probable suicide, but they are thoroughly investigating all aspects of the case. DCP Crime Branch Raj Tilak Roshan informed the media that the body has been sent for post-mortem and that both the police and forensic teams are examining the situation.

At the time of her father’s passing, Malaika Arora was not in Mumbai but was in Pune. Upon hearing the distressing news, she returned to Mumbai immediately.
