Trump rally shooting Live Video : Law enforcement agents were investigating whether they suspect it was an attempt to assassinate Donald Trump after a man opened fire on them with a rifle during a campaign rally in Butler County, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.
Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said on X that the former Republican president was “safe” after several shots were fired, after which agents protecting Trump attacked him amid the ensuing chaos. Secret Service agents then shot the suspected assailant – who had fired toward Trump “from an elevated position outside the rally site,” Guglielmi said.
One person was killed and two others were seriously injured. The FBI later identified the shooter as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, the Associated Press reported.

A public records database showed a Bethel Park man with the same name and age as Crooks registered to vote as a Republican in 2021. Yet the federal campaign finance report also shows she gave $15 to a progressive political action committee on Jan. 20, 2021, the first day Democratic President Joe Biden took office.
Trump said in two statements that he was “fine” after the bullet hit the top of his right ear.
The former president also thanked Secret Service agents as well as other law enforcement officials for their “quick response” in a Truth social post after the shooting.
“Most importantly, I want to express my condolences to the family of the person who died at the rally, as well as to the families of those who were badly injured,” Trump said. Trump was taken to the hospital for a check-up and then reportedly discharged at around 10.20 pm local time.

The NBC News video captured more than a dozen images, the latter apparently taken by agents protecting the president, who was giving a speech on stage at the time.
A voice was heard: “Get down, get down, get down! “Agents rushed to throw themselves on top of Trump while gunfire continued and screams were heard from the crowd.
In the audio received from the network, the agent’s voices are recorded saying: “The shooter fell. The shooter fell. Are we ready to move forward? We are safe, we are safe. “
When the agents were trying to remove Trump from the stage at the rally, he said: “Let me take my shoes. Let me take my shoes. The agents can be heard telling the former president: I will get you. Stop. Your head is covered with blood. We must leave. ”
Trump responded: “Wait, wait. Then he clenched his fists and said: “Fight, fight, fight. ”
And the crowd at the rally responded with slogans: “USA! USA! USA! ”
As some onlookers started abusing the media, uniformed armed soldiers reached the spot.

In the video, blood is seen on Trump’s ear. According to the Reuters news agency, snipers were also present on the roof near the stage where Trump was standing.
NBC News, citing two senior law enforcement officials, reported that there is growing concern among investigators that the shooting at Trump’s rally “may have been a serious attempt on his life.”
Local District Attorney Richard Goldinger said on CNN that he did not know how the suspected shooter “would have gotten to where he was.”
