ITSA Hospitals Introduces ‘Food as Medicine’ Clinical Nutrition Programs; A First in Central India & Chhattisgarh

Raipur, April 2026: In a significant step towards advancing patient care, ITSA Hospitals, Raipur has launched two landmark clinical nutrition initiatives — Aarogyum and a specialized Texture Modified Diet Program. Introduced in collaboration with Sodexo’s Health & Care segment, these programs mark a first-of-its-kind initiative in Raipur, setting a new benchmark for holistic patient recovery in the region.

The Aarogyum program is built on the philosophy of “Food as Medicine”, integrating clinical nutrition with traditional wellness practices. By incorporating functional ingredients such as millets, the program aims to boost immunity, support faster recovery, and enhance overall patient well-being.

Complementing this is the Texture Modified Diet Program, designed specifically for patients with swallowing difficulties or post-operative needs. Following precise international consistency standards, the program ensures that meals are not only clinically safe but also retain their taste, presentation, and appeal—preserving the dignity and experience of eating for patients.

This initiative is the brainchild of visionary Managing Director, Mr. Sunil Balani.

Speaking on the occasion, the CEO Mr. Suraj Tripathi of ITSA Hospitals said:

“At ITSA, our mission is to provide holistic healing. By being the first in Raipur to introduce these pioneering programs in collaboration with Sodexo, we are ensuring that nutrition becomes an integral part of the medical treatment plan. This partnership brings global expertise to our local community, enabling us to deliver the highest standards of clinical hospitality.”

This initiative is being led under the guidance of the leadership team at ITSA Hospitals, including Directors Mr. Sunil Balani, Dr. Rajkumar Baranwal, Dr. Sachin Pitlawar, and CEO Mr. Suraj Tripathi, who continue to drive innovation and excellence in patient care.

Speaking on the occasion, Director Dr. Rajkumar Baranwal (Internal Medicine) of ITSA Hospitals said:

“Clinical nutrition plays a critical role in patient recovery. With Aarogyum and the Texture Modified Diet Program, we are ensuring that every patient receives nutrition that is both safe and therapeutic. This initiative strengthens our approach towards truly holistic care.

It also supports better management of conditions like diabetes, improves digestion, aids in healthy weight management, and provides essential antioxidants for overall wellness. Additionally, these millets -focused interventions contribute to better heart health, ensuring patients receive comprehensive care that goes beyond treatment to complete recovery.”

With this initiative, ITSA Hospitals continues to strengthen its commitment to innovation, patient-centric care, and excellence in healthcare delivery, positioning itself as a leader in advanced and holistic treatment approaches in Central India.
